Erco Worldwide's North Vancouver site,
located east of the Second Narrows Bridge crossing the Burrard Inlet,
began manufacturing sodium chlorate
in 1957. In the early 1990's the site was modernized with state-of-the
art technology that would position our North Vancouver facility to
be one of the
leading suppliers of sodium chlorate to world markets.
Sodium chlorate is an industrial salt produced from water and common
salt in reaction with an electric current. The pulp mills use sodium
chlorate to produce chlorine dioxide, used to bleach pulp for the
manufacture of high quality and environmentally friendly white paper
products. Sodium chlorate is available in
two forms, dry white crystal that looks like table salt and clear
solution. |

| The North Vancouver plant manufactures
in excess of 90,000 tonnes of sodium chlorate annually. Our product
is sold worldwide and is shipped domestically by truck, railway or
barge to anywhere in North America. We export our product in containers
to various parts of the world such as Asia and South Africa. |

Sodium chlorate is manufactured,
handled and transported in a manner that poses no harm to our community.
We are all committed to a practice of quality, environmental control
and safety in the manufacturing process and the delivery
of our products to our customers. |
